Practices are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Tuesdays are from 2-4 PM for IEs and Debate. Wednesdays are from 3-5 for Congress.
Who Are We?
We are the Speech and Debate team from Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies. We are located in the Tri-County Forensics League. Despite being one of the smallest teams in one of the biggest and most competitive leagues in the state of California, and in spite of being one of the only teams that doesn't have a traditional Speech and Debate class, we have brought home countless trophies and certificates. We have consistently sent members to the California High School Speech Association State Championships.
Our Mission
We create a positive, safe, learning environment at each of our practices and tournaments to encourage students to improve their communication and public speaking skills. We have helped countless students gain confidence and the skills needed to survive in the real world. We hope to guide our members into discovering their full potential in any events they choose to do. Here at SOCES Speech and Debate, we aspire to create an integrated team in which we can play off each others' strengths and continue to be outstanding.
